2 tbs olive oil
1 onion diced
5 cloves garlic minced
1 green pepper
1 tsp cumin
2 to 3 tbs dark chili powder (NOT Indian Chili Powder!!! You will catch your mouth on fire)
Franks red hot (this will be to taste. See instructions)
1 28 oz can of tomato sauce
1 28 oz can diced tomatoes
1 pound BROWNED ground turkey or ground beef
2 cans kidney beans undrained
- Cook onions, garlic, pepper in olive oil on medium heat until soft.
- Add tomato, cumin, chili powder, and 1 teaspoon franks. Stir well. Cook 5 minutes
- Add turkey and beans. Simmer on lowest heat for at least an hour.
Note: You can always add more Franks, but start with a small amount and let it cook for 15 or more minutes. (It gets hotter as it cooks). If you want it hotter, don’t add more than a half tsp at a time. It’s easy to over-spice it
